Meet Thomas Anthony, a digital artist whose colorful, thought-provoking works blend comic book influences with a life steeped in creativity. Inspired by his father, Thomas's passion for art began at a young age. Rock and metal music became his sanctuary, helping him navigate the complexities of his childhood while fueling his creativity.
Now serving in the military, Thomas brings a unique perspective to his digital art as the expense of art supplies can sometimes be unobtainable. His distinctive colors and intricate designs engage viewers, inviting them to uncover new layers with each look. Proficient in digital art, Thomas has also created original works in pencil on paper, paint on canvas, and photography as featured on his social media portfolio. It's a privilege to present Thomas's work here.
"My names Thomas Anthony I’ve been making art all throughout my life starting with traditional mediums moving to more digital based works nowadays. I first gained an interest in drawing because of power rangers of all things, my dad would draw my favorite rangers inspiring me to do the same in imitation and from there it just stuck. Getting better and better as I grew up. My early primary influences were mostly comic books as I loved how striking and moody a lot of the comics I liked were. Mostly Batman punisher and spider man. Then as a teen I became obsessed with metal and punk rock music shifting alot of the tone in my works to a darker direction enabling me to channel the anger and emptiness I felt on the inside from my personal life. Now as a more digital based artist I find myself coming full circle and drawing from my early interest in comic books, photography, ps2 game aesthetics and electronic music.my biggest influences are H.R. Geiger, Vincent castiglia, jay lee, Brian hitch, and most importantly Tim Bradenstreet, the artist most known for drawing the covers for the punisher MAX line of comics, who influenced me to do a more realistic style but still with that trademark comic style heavy black shadowing. To be honest I still wish to make more physical pieces but I like the convenance of an iPad and procreate as now I’m currently in the navy and stationed in Hawaii with my own apartment and all sorts of bills. Canvases and paint etc. are pretty expensive and I don’t wanna steal art supplies anymore like I did as a teen all in all it’s cool to see someone giving space for artists who face a lot of rejection when they should really be showcased. So thank you for providing the space."
